Privacy Policy

Grapple Man · Last updated 26 August 2026

Grapple Man is a game. It has no accounts, no logins and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, your email address or anything else that identifies you. What follows explains the small amount of data that is involved anyway, almost all of it because the game shows ads.

Who we are

Ink Blot Games Limited is the data controller for the purposes of UK and EU data protection law.

Registered address: Bartle House, 9 Oxford Court, Manchester, England, M2 3WQ
Company number: 17389472

What stays on your device

Your best score, your daily challenge progress, the cosmetics you have unlocked, your achievements and your sound preference are stored on your device using the operating system's own storage. This information is never transmitted to us and we cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes it.

Advertising

The free version of Grapple Man shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, Google collects and processes:

  • your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android);

  • your IP address, from which an approximate location such as country or city can be derived;

  • device and app information, such as device model, operating system version and app version;

  • information about the ads shown to you and whether you interacted with them.

This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller. Their handling of it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, and you can read how Google uses data from apps that use its services at Google's partner sites page.
Your choices about ads

  • In the UK and the EEA, the first time you open the game you are shown a consent form asking whether Google may use your data for personalised advertising. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalised. You can change your answer at any time from the game's settings.

  • On iOS, you are separately asked whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. You can change this under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

  • On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID under Settings › Google › Ads.

  • Or remove ads entirely with the one-off in-app purchase. Once it is active, no ad requests are made and no advertising data is collected.

Purchases

Grapple Man offers a single optional purchase that removes ads permanently. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or receive your card details, billing address or any other payment information. We receive only a confirmation from the store that the purchase is valid, so the game knows to switch the ads off.

Your entitlement is held by the store against your Apple or Google account, which is why it can be restored on a new device using the Restore Purchases button.

Our legal bases

  • Consent — for personalised advertising, where you have given it through the consent form.

  • Legitimate interests — for non-personalised advertising and for preventing fraudulent or invalid ad activity. Our interest is in funding a free game; we consider this proportionate because the data involved is limited and is not used to identify you as an individual.

  • Performance of a contract — for processing an in-app purchase you have chosen to make.

How long it is kept

We do not hold a database of players, so we retain nothing ourselves. Google's retention of advertising data is set out in its own policy. Data stored on your device remains until you delete the app.

International transfers

Google processes advertising data on servers outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States, relying on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Grapple Man is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will look into it.
Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold no player data ourselves, most requests of this kind need to be directed to Google, whose tools are linked above. If you contact us we will help you where we can.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
